2024 GMC Sierra 2500

driving down the road going to and intersection the dash says I received a Service ESC message followed by a Reduced Acceleration warning on the center display. I also had the forward collision, traction control and check engine lights come on. I also noticed the shudder/jerk. The truck is giving a P060C code and when i was driving it dies in the intersection of the road and will not start back up. puts the computer in a safety mode. I have call my local GM dealer and they did not fix it and it happen twice. I the truck dies in the middle of the road and no way to start's it and if a big rig crashes in to the truck some one or more than one will be hurt or killed

While driving my truck on the highway at 65 mph the truck bucked hard and immediately downshifted into 2nd gear. This caused me to rapidly decelerate to approximately 40 mph, I am lucky there was not another vehicle behind me when this happened since rapid unexpected deceleration without brake lights is very dangerous. I had to drive the truck in limp mode at 45mph and approximately 4500 rpms to the nearest exit. This event illuminated the trucks check engine light and displayed a brief service 4WD message followed by a permanent reduced acceleration message on the dash.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH, the vehicle lost brake and power steering functionality, and there was smoke coming from underneath the hood. The contact stated that power steering fluid was leaking onto the engine. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the power steering pump had seized, the belt and hoses had failed, and the parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,832.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear axle unexpectedly locked up, and the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. The rear axle independently released, and the vehicle was driven back to the residence. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,300.

I bought this truck from a reputable GM dealership 2.5 weeks before this happening occurred. Tires only had 50k miles on them when they were rated for 80k miles: the front driver side Ttire ruptured while on major hwy in texas. No signs of air loss and the road was clear of any debris. Steering started to lightly shake and eventually came to a violent shake, then the front driver tire ruptured. Uncontrollable steering from the rupture caused the truck to slam and scrape into the concrete dividing barrier. If it were not for the other drivers around and being then cautioning their driving behaviors, this may have resulted fatally. Other drivers and my self may have easily collided with each other on a major traffic highway. I’m still extremely mindful of this happening again. This caused me as a customer, originally thinking this tire manufacturer is to be trusted, to not being a customer any longer as well as causing nearly $30,000 of needed repairs. From what I am reading from this site, plenty of other drivers have experienced the same, almost identical happenings. This is a safety issue that needs a recall on this line of tires and the manufacturer should be liable for all costs to the consumer witch includes vehicle rentals, hotel fees and insurance deductibles, s as well as the entire bill of repairs the insurance companies dish out. It appears from all of the complaints, Goodyear is producing unsafe products that is endangering consumers’ lives. Do the ethical thing Goodyear. Stand behind your product and protect, honor your customers. I have requested a subjugation claim with my insurance provider. The ruptured tire and related wheel are in my possession, available for inspection upon request. Police and GM roadside assistance were called as Onstar was prompted.

While towing my fifth-wheel trailer, I was descending a hill (I had my tow/haul switch engaged) when I noticed an issue with my vehicle. Upon reaching the bottom of the hill and beginning to decelerate, when applying gas to continue up the hill the vehicle shuddered noticeably. A warning light briefly illuminated on the dashboard and then turned off shortly afterward. Although the warning light went away, the vehicle continued to exhibit a slight vibration, particularly between approximately 25 and 50 mph. I was able to drive the vehicle home safely and subsequently brought it to the dealership for inspection. The dealership performed a diagnostic scan and retrieved fault codes. Based on their findings, they have determined that the transmission requires replacement and are proceeding with that repair. They also found a different fluid in the transmission fluid, they skipped the testing and got permission to change out the transmission

The tailgate opens unexpectedly, it can be inspected but it is in for repairs on 6/15/26. There was luggage in the back and it could have fallen out on the freeway. The problem has not been repeated by the dealer, but it has occurred several times in the past. The vehicle had not been inspected by others. There was no warning that the tailgate opened. They start to occur randomly several months ago.

Unexpected braking at highway speeds. This has at least 50 times at highway speeds. The truck has experienced repeated false Forward Collision Alerts and un-commanded Automatic Emergency Braking events. Adaptive Cruise Control frequently detects roadside objects and vehicles in adjacent lanes, particularly on curves. The vehicle has never had windshield replacement, front-end damage, suspension modifications, or aftermarket accessories. This is creating a safety hazard because the truck brakes unexpectedly in traffic at any speed.

I was merging onto the highway in my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine at about 50mph when the gauge cluster emitted a “Reduced Acceleration Drive With Care” message followed by a check engine light. The check engine light presented indicated a “P0747” and “P0700” code. The vehicle was then stuck in 5th gear at highway speeds. Luckily there was no traffic present during this event due to the reduced acceleration of the vehicle and confusion caused to the operator. This could have been a dangerous situation due to the sudden change in handling of the vehicle. I have since then had the vehicle towed to the dealership in which it was purchased from for them to do their investigation to see how to fix the issue. This is a very well known issue with these GM heavy duty pickups. There is currently a recall on these trucks for this exact issue but my truck at this point in time is not included in said recall. I believe the recall is for 2020-2022 vehicles. Mine happens to be a 2024 which uses the same transmission as the older model vehicles in the recall. There are many other owners of these trucks like myself who have experienced this exact same issue. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this issue has been reported either. Something must be done about this.
