The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly, and the RPM fluctuated between 500 and 1,000 RPM while idling. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the fuel economy had decreased to 13 miles per gallon. The contact stated that upon scanning the vehicle, the contact retrieved DTC: P0606 and P062B. The contact related the failure to GM Campaign Number: N232415860 (Fuel Injector Flow Rate Compensation). The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the two outside cabs were smoking. There was smoke detected near the fuel tank. The contact stated that there was an abnormal odor of diesel and DEF detected. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. While driving, there was a lot of smoke detected from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 100.

The tire information label may state the incorrect rear tire pressure, resulting in underinflated tires and preventing the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) from displaying a low tire pressure warning.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Driving with underinflated tires can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect, update the engine control module (ECM) software, apply a tire label overlay, inflate tires to the correct pressure, and perform a tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) re-learn process as necessary, free of charge. The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in Park.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An unlatched tailgate may open and result in a loss of unsecured cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge.
