Front camera fault. Pre collision systems don’t work without it. Large online community with the same issues but ford refuses to acknowledge it’s an issue. They won’t help even if errors start happening before warranty is over. And once warranty is over they charge large amounts to fix. There is a TSB out for the issue and it seems like a pinched coaxial cable. Our safety is at stake and the number of occurrences can’t not be random.

When driving two errors occur randomly and repeatedly. 1) Front Camera Fault, and 2) Pre-collision Assist inoperative. If driving with using any of the ADAS features, the car immediately begins to slow rapidly although each time it has occurred there has been no obstacle present. In one instance, it was on a freeway at 75 mph speeds nearly causing a severe accident due to the unexpected rapid deceleration. Luckily this was at 10pm at night. Had it occurred during higher traffic volumes I can almost guarantee there would have been a multiple vehicle collision. Researching online, it appears that the manufacturer has issued a TSB 23-2155 acknowledging the problem exists, but they do not see this as a significant enough safety issue to warrant a recall. When the failure causes complete disconnection of all ADAS features and the vehicle to attempt unneeded, unexpected, and unpredictable evasive maneuvers, I believe this to be a significant safety issue. The warning and attempted braking by the vehicle occur on a daily basis.

Subject: Complaint against Ford Clermont Dealership - Delayed and Unethical Service I am writing this complaint to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received from Clermont Ford dealership regarding the repair of my vehicle. My name is [XXX] , and on [XXX], 2024, I brought my car to your dealership in Clermont , Florida, due to faulty warning lights indicating a potential crash issue and malfunctioning mirrors. The vehicle drove fine. There was no other issues. I just wanted to get this taken care of. After inspecting my vehicle, Ford of Clermont dealership informed me that someone had backed into my car, causing minor damage that needed to be repaired. Consequently, I entrusted my vehicle to Ford of Clermont dealership for the necessary repairs. However, it has been an incredibly frustrating experience as my vehicle has now been at your dealership for almost a month and a half, with no end in sight. Throughout this period, I have made numerous visits to the dealership to check on the progress of the repairs. However, each time I arrived, the service representative assigned to my case was conveniently either on a break, out to lunch, or absent altogether. To exacerbate matters, the service representative provided me with a Google Voice phone number that he never answered, but would respond to via text message. This unprofessional behavior has left me feeling neglected and unheard as a customer. Despite my persistent efforts, I have been continuously given the runaround by your dealership. Whenever I communicate with the service representative, I am fed excuses about ordered wrong body parts or being incorrect or delayed. Additionally, my requests to speak with a supervisor have been ignored, as no supervisors have reached out to address my concerns. It is worth noting that after posting a negative review on Yelp, I was promptly contacted by the service department, claiming that there is an electrical issue with my veh INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5

I have been having Ford try to resolve the safety systems from failing while driving for over 2 years. In October 2023 I took a settlement (hush money) for my time and effort, thinking that the safety systems were fixed. The dealership currently has had my vehicle for over 7 days and will not give it back until they have found a resolution (good for them). The dealer placed a buyback request with Ford Motor Co last week because of the extensive troubles, safety concerns and inability to resolve, however Ford has denied it because of the settlement. I am not wanting money, I am not wanting anything other than for Ford to take the vehicle back and pay off the loan. I have a teenage driver and I am at a point that the safety of this vehicle is putting myself, my daughter and OTHERS at risk every time it is driven on public roads. The lemon law attorney I used for the settlement refuses too help me any further stating the case is closed. I disagree that a vehicle with safety defects is OK to keep driving and that Ford Motor Co is OK with this. There is no short term or long term resolution to this matter, they do not know what is causing the system to malfunction. In every essence this is a lemon.

This vehicle has an issue with persisent and now completely locked out safety systems. There's a 40 page forum on MachEForums. Currently at the dealer 2 weeks with no known fix. They are waiting on parts, but do not guarantee a fix. All of my safety systems have been disabled from this. Adadptive Cruise Control, which isn't concerning, but - Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warnings, Lane Keeping Assistance. I feel unsafe in this vehicle and Ford has no current fix. A serious investigation needs to go into this as I was advised by the Ford BEV team hotline he had just spoken to someone from California who started a buyback for the same reason, and when the dealer couldn't fix it, to call back and advise it's a lemon. The fact Ford themselves suggested this and cannot restore safety systems is beyond scary. Dealer isn't convinced they can fix it and says parts are backordered, meanwhile there's no concise fix. A master tech in the thread has suggested co-axials, while others have had their camera and camera harness replaced. Others like myself are without the loss of a car for weeks while still having to pay for it. Please launch a formal investigation. If it was just adaptive cruise, it wouldn't matter. Normal cruise is knocked out as well as every ADAS feature, due to a 'front camera' / colission avoidance issue. Another tech in the thread suggested the wiring loom was not long enough causing a harsh bend to the coaxial in the bumper. I just want a safe car back. All features such as lane keeping, even auto-braking are now gone. My dealer is unable to calibrate the camera anymore and suggested Ford released this vehicle a bit too early. This is worrying. Thanks

EA25001 · Collisions Involving Ford Bluecruise

Opened Jan 17, 2025 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System:adas

On April 25, 2024, NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Preliminary Evaluation (PE24012) to assess BlueCruise, a partial driving automation system available on certain vehicles manufactured by Ford Motor Company (Ford). NHTSA opened the investigation after the agency received notice of two fatal collisions involving BlueCruise-equipped Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles. Based on the incidents, NHTSA scoped the investigation to 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with BlueCruise. In June 2024, ODI sent an Information Request (IR) letter to Ford requiring that it provide certain information pertaining to crashes, non-crash reports, and technical specifications that relate to BlueCruise, as well as other Ford partial driving automation systems that offer lane and speed maintenance. In its response to ODI’s IR, Ford stated that there are 2,539,962 Ford and Lincoln vehicles (including subject and peer vehicles) equipped with a partial driving automation system within the scope of the request. The majority of these vehicles are equipped with a system that Ford calls Lane Centering Assist (LCA), which is a hands-on partial driving automation system that combines longitudinal control authority governed by Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and lateral control authority governed by a steerable path. LCA is offered on a wide range of Ford and Lincoln models beginning in model year 2019. Vehicles that are equipped with BlueCruise, the focus of this investigation, have LCA capability and additionally offer hands-free partial driving automation when certain conditions are met. Hands-free BlueCruise operation is only offered on certain roadways and system availability is geofenced using vehicle GPS. BlueCruise-equipped vehicles employ a camera-based driver monitoring system to determine driver attentiveness to the roadway. BlueCruise was introduced in model year 2021 and is currently available in a select range of Ford and Lincoln vehicles. For BlueCruise- and LCA-equipped vehicles, both ACC and Pre-Collision Assist (PCA) features use a combination of camera and radar sensing technologies to detect and classify objects. ACC is specifically designed to detect vehicles (including cars, trucks, and motorcycles) and bicycles in front of the subject vehicle which are either stationary or moving in the same direction as the subject vehicle. Through this investigation, limitations in the detection of stationary vehicles in certain conditions have been identified. Specifically, due to the potential for false detection of stationary objects at long distances, Ford designed ACC to inhibit any response to reported stationary objects when the subject vehicle’s approach speed is at or above 62 mph. Additionally, system performance may be limited when there is poor visibility due to insufficient illumination. In addition to reviewing Ford’s response to ODI’s IR, the agency conducted a review of crash and non-crash reports identified collectively through Ford’s IR response, incident reporting through Standing General Order 2021-01 (SGO), and NHTSA vehicle owner questionnaires. In total, 32 crashes and 2,004 non-crash reports on subject and peer Ford vehicles were identified across manufacturer and ODI data sources. A detailed analysis of each crash was conducted including the review of any available police reports, photographs, data recovered from in-vehicle event data recorders, connected vehicle data, and/or other information. In both fatal collisions referenced in the PE24012 opening resume, the subject Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicle was traveling over 70 mph on a controlled-access highway during nighttime lighting conditions with hands-free BlueCruise engaged when it collided with a stationary vehicle. Analysis of data imaged from the vehicles’ event data recorders demonstrates that in each incident, the driver did not apply the brakes or take evasive steering action, and no deceleration was initiated by either the BlueCruise system or PCA prior to impact. Through the agency’s crash analysis, four additional frontal collisions were identified where the subject Ford impacted a stopped or slow-moving lead vehicle or another stationary object located in the travel lane. Two of these four incidents involved BlueCruise-equipped Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles (included in the failure report summary along with the fatal collisions discussed above), while the other two involved other Ford models equipped with the LCA system. Additionally, a trend was identified through analysis of the non-crash reports relating to allegations that ACC (the longitudinal component of both BlueCruise and LCA) failed to detect and/or respond to a stopped or slow-moving lead vehicle. In these reports, consumers often describe that the absence of deceleration initiated by ACC was unexpected and required harsh manual braking or intervention from the PCA to avoid a frontal collision with the lead vehicle. Based on NHTSA’s analysis, system limitations relating to the detection of stationary vehicles while traveling at highway speeds and in nighttime lighting conditions appear to be factors in collisions under investigation and several apparently similar near-miss, non-crash reports. This Engineering Analysis (EA) is being opened to further investigate these system limitations and to evaluate drivers’ ability to respond to scenarios that exceed system limitations. During the EA, the agency expects to, among other things, perform vehicle evaluations, review additional technical information, and perform additional analysis of related crashes and non-crash reports. The crashes included in the failure report summary can be found at NHTSA.gov under the following SGO report identification numbers: 502-7268, 502-7426, 502-6852, 502-8738.

PE24012 · Collisions Involving Ford Bluecruise

Opened Apr 25, 2024 · Closed Jan 17, 2025

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Electrical System:adas
