HEAD GASKET FAILED THE FIRST TIME, REPLACED UNDER RECALL #98M01, THEN TIMING COVER GASKET AND ORING FAILED, WAS REPLACED AND PAID FOR BY OWNER, ENGINE THEN FAILED COMPLETELY. SALVAGED ENGINE INSTALLED AND PAID FOR BY OWNER AT 95,563 MILES. SALVAGE ENGINE HAD 45,000 MILES ON IT JAN 1999. VAN NOW HAS A 110,000 TOTAL VEHICULAR MILES ON IT AND SECOND ENGINE HAS FAILED. FORD DOES NOT WANT TO REIMBURSE FOR ENGINE FAILURE BEFORE 100,000 MILES AND WILL NOT REPLACE HEAD GASKET ON SECOND ENGINE ON RECALL #00M09, SINCE THERE IS OVER 100,000 MILES. THIS HAS BEEN VERY FRUSTRATING FOR US SINCE OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS WE HAVE PURCHASED ROUGHLY $85,000 WORTH OF FORD VEHICLES (MAINLY F-SERIES TRUCKS) AND HAVE HAD EXTREMELY GOOD LUCK WITH THE TRUCKS BUT NOT THE MINIVAN. *AK
