THE DOOR LIGHT ALSO COMES ON, SAYING THAT A DOOR IS AJAR. *AK
IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL #98S28 ON 05-OCT-98. ON 19-NOV-98, CONSUMER HAD PARKED THE VEHICLE AFTER TRAVELING AND THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, ACCORDING TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED OUTSIDE OF CONSUMER'S HOUSE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME TO THE SCENE AND DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS YET TO BE CONTACTED. *AK *ML

REAR WHEEL WELLS RUSTED RESULTING IN SHOCK ABSORBERS TO BECOME DETACHED.
DEFECT IN WIRING HARNESS, CAUSED HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO MELT AND FAIL.

THE IGNITION SWITCH COULD EXPERIENCE AN INTERNAL SHORT CIRCUIT.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING, SMOKE, AND POSSIBLY FIRE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AREA OF THE VEHICLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: COUPLING COULD DISENGAGE DUE TO FUEL PRESSURE,VIBRATION, AND ENGINE MOVEMENTS; THIS WOULD CAUSE LOSS OF FUEL WHICH, INPRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, CREATES A FIRE RISK.
Remedy: INSTALL RETAINER CLIPS OVER THE COUPLINGS TO PREVENT COUPLING SEPARATION AND FUEL LEAKAGE.
