DT: CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING THE TRAVEL TRAILER THE METAL C-FRAME BROKE. THE C-FRAME ATTACHES THE HITCH BOX TO THE TRAILER. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATING A PROBLEM. THE REPAIR SHOP PULLED THE HITCH BOX OUT AND WELDED THE HITCH TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. ALSO, WELDED A FLAT BAR UNDERNEATH THE HITCH TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT. THE REPAIRMAN SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE WAY THE HITCH WAS INSTALLED ON THE TRAILER. THE METAL SUPPORT OF THE HITCH BOX WAS TOO THIN. THE STRESS OF REGULAR MOTION ON THE ROAD WEAKENED THE METAL SUPPORT. THE CONTACT DID NOT BELIEVE THIS WAS A PERMANENT REPAIR FOR THE TRAILER. *AK
