68 reportsWHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND NO WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO PULL OVER OFF THE ROAD. CONSUMER STATES IS THE FUEL INJECTION PUMP WHICH IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS RELEASED, IT TAKES 10-15 SECONDS FOR THE FUEL INJECTION TO SHUT OFF, AND THE PEDAL STICKS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A DEAD STOP, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. BOTH VISITS TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS PRODUCED NO RESULTS AND I WAS TOLD "NO PROBLEM FOUND." DT
A/C UNIT WORKS, HOWEVER DUE TO SHORT CYCLE EXCESSIVE WEAR OCCURS TO A/C AND ENGINE.

THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS REPLACED AT 27831 ON 5/4/01; AT 40373 ON 10/26/01 AND IT IS AGAIN BAD AS OF THIS CONTACT.*AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VANS EQUIPPED WITH A BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A POWER STEERING COOLER HOSE THAT CAN SEPARATE FROM THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER FLUID FLOW SWITCH ASSEMBLY.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, POWER STEERING FLUID COULD FLOW ONTO HOT ENGINE PARTS AND AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE COULD OCCUR.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR THREE SCREW CLAMPS TO THE POWER STEERING HOSE JOINTS. IF THE CLAMPS ARE NOT THE SCREW TYPE, DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CLAMPS.
