FUEL INJECTORS ARE LEAKING WHICH IS CAUSING THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO SMELL OF FUEL. CAUSE UNKNOWN. ALSO, VEHICLE JERKS. TAIL LIGHTS KEEP BLOWING OUT, AND SIGNAL LIGHTS OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY. *AK
FAULTY TURN SIGNAL AND DIMMER STALK SWITCH FAILED CAUSING THE STEERING COLUMN TO BURN.

THEY WON'T GO OFF UNTIL RESTARTING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES./ WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP THE CAR WILL JUMP FORWARD AND A LOUD BANG CAN BE FELT AND HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR./ WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ON OR WHEN MAKING A TURN, THE HIGH BEAMS CAN N0T BE TURNED ON OR OFF./ THE CAR WILL NOT STAY IN ALIGNMENT. I HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES DUE TO THIS. THE RIDE IS EXTREMELY ROUGH!/ THE PAINT IS JUST PEELING RIGHT OFF THE CAR. ANY TIME ANY MOISTURE GETS ON THE CAR, THE PAINT JUST COMES RIGHT OFF./ THE GAS GUAGE IS WAY OFF. WHEN IT READS HALF A TANK IT IS REALLY AT JUST ABOUT 2 GALLONS. NOTE: IT IS A 12.5 GALLON TANK.

THE SERVICE BRAKE STOP LAMP SWITCH BECOMES INOPERATIVE.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: THE INOPERATIVE STOP LAMP SWITCH WILL NOT ILLUMINATE THESTOP LAMPS WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. THIS WOULD NOT ADEQUATELY INFORMOTHER DRIVERS OF THE VEHICLE OPERATOR'S INTENT TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN.
Remedy: REPLACE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH AND CORRECT THE WIRING IN THE CONNECTOR OF THE STOP LAMP SWITCH WIRING HARNESS.

CFAS SENT A FOLLOW-UP LETTER ON DECEMBER 12, 1996, TO CHANGE THE INTENT OF THE PETITION TO AIRBAG AGGRESSIVITY AND DEPLOYMENT VARIABILITY.NHTSA RECEIVED THE LETTER ON 12/12/96; ACCORDINGLY, THE PETITION DUE DAY WAS CHANGED TO APRIL 12, 1997.CFAS PETITIONED THE AGENCY TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE AIRBAG CRASH SENSOR AND/OR DEPLOYMENT SYSTEMS FOR THE 1991-92 CHEVROLET CORSICA/BERETTA, 1990-92 FORD TAURUS, AND 1994-96 CHRYSLER MINIVANS ARE DEFECTIVE.CFAS ALLEGE THAT INFORMATION ON LOW SPEED CRASHES HERE OCCUPANTS HAVE SUFFERED FATAL INJURIES SUGGESTS [THAT THE ABOVE VEHICLES] HAVE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG CRASH SENSOR AND/OR DEPLOYMENT SYSTEMS.
