WHILE DRIVING ENGINE LOCKED UP,EMITTING WHITE SMOKE. MECHANIC STATED THAT FUEL PUMP DUMPED A LOT OF FUEL INTO THE BLOCK , CAUSING THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP.*AK

UPON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, TRUCK ENGINE STOPS AS IF THE SWITCH HAS BEEN CUT OFF, OF COURSE IT HASN`T. THE LAST TIME, 11/02/99, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START BACK, AS IT HAD IN THE PAST. HOWEVER AFTER CALLING A WRECKER,AND WAITING ABOUT 30 MINUTES, IT CRANK WITH NO PROBLEM AND PERFORMED PERFECTLY. DROVE TO REPAIR SHOP, CUMPUTER ANALIZER SHOWED NO PROBLEM. TRUCK ALWAYS STOPS AT A LOW SPEED, 5 TO 20 MPH. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION ON HOW TO FIND AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU EARL HAYES

WHENEVER THE CAR IS SITTING STILL THE CAR STALLS. WENT TO DEALER 3 TIMES, HE CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK DIES. *AK CONSUMER STATES STALLING PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE DIESEL FUEL SYSTEMS IN ALL LIGHT DUTY GM PICKUPS, DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, CRANK CASE REGULATOR, INJECTOR PUMP, AND AN OIL LEAK WAS FOUND. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. *SLC

THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION HAS RECEIVED 375 REPORTS ALLEGING FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME WHICH IS PRONE TO BREAKAGE AT THE LEFT FRONT ATTACHING POINT.WHEN THIS OCCURS, THE SEAT MAY TILT AWAY FROM THE RISER DURING ACCELERATING OR BRAKING.(SEE CLOSING REPORT)
