CONSUMER COMPLAINING OF ABS BRAKE SYSTEM HAVING FAILED ON THREE OCCASIONS, ONCE RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. FIRST TIME CONSUMER WAS DRIVING ON ROAD AT 35 MPH UNDER NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. WAS PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO STOP, WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND STOPPED WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING VEHICLE IN FRONT. SECOND TIME, WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP WHEN HEARD AN UNUSUAL NOISE COMING FROM THE WHEEL AS SHE WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES, AND THE VEHICLE WAS COMING TO A DELAYED STOP. THE FINAL FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE CONSUMER WAS TURNING OFF THE HIGHWAY DURING 20 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. WHEN APPROACHING VEHICLE IN FRONT, CONSUMER COMMENCED TO APPLY BRAKES, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP, CAUSING IT TO HIT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER. DEALER WAS NOT INFORMED AT THIS TIME. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ABOUT 25 MPH AND WHEN TRYING TO STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, AND THE BRAKES WERE MAKING A GRINDING NOISE WITHOUT STOPPING FOR A FEW FEET AWAY. *AK

THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BACK HEIGHT DOES NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 202, "HEAD RESTRAINTS."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: SEAT OCCUPANTS ARE SUBJECT TO INCREASED RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A SUDD STOP OR ACCIDENT.
Remedy: SHERRY DESIGNS WILL PROVIDE AN ATTACHABLE HEADREST FOR THE DEALER OR CUSTOMER TO ADD TO THE SEATS.
