The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the seat belt was the cause of the air bag warning light being illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who stated that the system needed to be reset. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
