When operating the vehicle for extended periods of time, more than 4 hours. I pulled off the interstate at a fuel station and shut the vehicle off, waited 5 min and restarted with no difference in the fault. The vehicle was returned to the dealer months prior for the same complaint, a software update was performed. The software update did not fix the apparent hardware issue. Our safety was jeopardized by poor accelerator pedal programming while removing operation of the cruise control at a critical time. Each occurrence was identical. Removal of cruise control for a hardware or software error to reduce the manufacturers perceived liability will result in serious accidents due to wildly fluctuating speed in inclement weather on the interstate.
